Alert Level 3 Communication # 1

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Unfortunately, we find ourselves going into lockdown again with only students of essential workers able to be on our school site. We appreciate that the sudden closure of our school will likely cause some challenges among our families as you make plans to have children home and organise your work situation. I thank you for your patience.

Tomorrow morning, teachers will be in contact with students and parents to explain what learning will look like over the next three days with the expectation that school will reopen on Thursday 18th February. In the event that the Prime Minister extends the lockdown beyond this we will contact parents to explain what our plan is over the coming weeks.

Some points to note:

• Only children of essential workers are to attend school

• No visitors allowed on site

• School grounds and playgrounds are closed under Alert Level 3

• We will not be distributing devices or opening the library unless we are informed that level 3 will be extended beyond this week. We will keep you updated with further information as it becomes available.

• Students attending school during Alert Level 3 are to arrive at school from 8:30 onwards and leave promptly at 3:00pm.

Please also note that Kelly Club before and after school care will be closed during Alert Level 3 lockdown.

If you are an essential services worker, and you will be sending your child/children to school during this lockdown, please email office@stthomas.school.nz at your earliest convenience so that we can organise our on-site resources.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to having all our children back on site as soon as it is safe to do so. Kind regards Michael Maher
